James J. Dinsmore

Hi there, I’m Jim Dinsmore, CFP®, CLU®, ChFC®, CEPA®

Jim joined EGWS in 2017 after 34 years working in the industry as a successful financial advisor and insurance representative. Jim earned his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation in 2004, his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) designation in 1999 and his Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF®) designation in 1994. Since joining EGWS, he has earned his Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) and Certified Exit Planner Associate (CEPA®) designations, continuing his dedication to professional growth and service to the small business, families, and individuals he serves.

Discover Jim’s Extensive Background

Jim is a member of the Society of Financial Professional Services; the Financial Planning Association; and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. Locally he is a Rotarian and serves on various boards including the Northcentral Pennsylvania Estate Planners Council and the Hope Enterprise Foundation. Jim was recognized as Hope Enterprise Foundation’s Person of the Year in 2014 for bringing the National Invitational Golf Tournament to Hope. He supports many local charities and charitable events throughout the communities he serves and embraces the role philanthropy has in his clients’ lives.

He is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University’s Smeal College of Business, 1982. He provides holistic financial planning and asset management and develops deep personal relationships with his clients to understand their dreams, goals, business, and family considerations.

Outside of the office, Jim enjoys travelling, hiking, golf, coaching college baseball, live music, and noodling on his guitars. He resides with his wife Susan, and they have two adult children, Ian, and Joseph.

As a college baseball coach, I develop young men to grow personally, allowing them to enjoy and succeed playing the game they love. We prepare players to confidently face and overcome their challenges on and off the field, providing them with an approach and game plan that puts them in a better position to succeed at both. Working with my clients is similar experience- we develop a life plan based on client goals, navigate the challenges, share our expertise, and provide guidance as they achieve their ideal and meaningful lives.
